QC Analyst I – Molecular

About this position:

We are seeking a QC Analyst to join our Team at Armata. The candidate will collaborate with the NGS team and will participate in quality assurance using molecular techniques. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced candidate to join a team working on cutting edge science to develop new therapeutics.

Key Responsibilities

  • Execute nucleic acid extraction and quantification, NGS sample preparation, and other molecular assays
  • Operate and maintain Illumina and Oxford Nanopore sequencing platforms
  • Execute microbiological assays and experiments with aseptic technique in a BSL-2 environment
  • Process, analyze, and organize large data sets
  • Perform cross-functional tasks to support pharmacology and product development
  • Assist in general upkeep of laboratory and maintain a clean and organized work environment
  • Maintain quality control and accurate records of daily experiments
  • Understand and comply with company standard operating procedures, quality control, and safety procedures
  • Read and understand scientific language, literature and publications
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications and Experience:

  • BS in Molecular Biology or other related field (required)
  • 1–2 years of experience in NGS, molecular biology, and/or microbiology
  • Excellent aseptic technique
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail
  • Collaborative team player who also works effectively independently and in small groups
  • Excellent written and verbal English communication skills
  • Programming and/or bioinformatics experience is a plus

Physical Working Conditions

This is a full– time position for work in a laboratory environment. The position requires wearing personal protective equipment. Occasionally, it may require lifting or moving equipment up to 20 pounds and may require standing for extended durations throughout the day. There is little to no travel required of this position, with the exception of required training and possible conference or event attendance.

Salary Range

The salary range for this position is $62,600 to $75,000, depending on experience and qualifications. Final compensation will be determined based on a variety of factors, including skills, background, and alignment with the role’s responsibilities. In addition to base pay, this position may be eligible for a discretionary annual bonus.
